14th of May is Food Safety Day in Korea. To celebrate the day, a ceremony was held on 12th at Gwangwhamun Square, Seoul and Melanie Joh, who is a managing director of McDonald’s Korea received a Minister of Food and Drugs Safety Award. The company was recognized for providing trans-fats free burgers and French fries that contain 20 percent less salt. Also, offering healthy menus such as Jeju Tangerine Salad for customers were recognized. ‘Made For You’ system enabled the firm to offer fresh products for consumers as they start making food right after orders. Moreover, the workers are required to wash their hands for 20 seconds every 30 minutes. This management has made further improvement in food hygiene and safety of McDonald’s Korea. Joh said, “We will continue to introduce advanced food safety system and comply with the strict guidelines of the food safety and hygiene. We will keep on offering high quality products to our consumers”
